SUMMER HOLIDAY As the staff and children of our school begin their summer holiday, let us keep their health and safety in our prayers.

WE WELCOME Leilani Jin Xiu Norris who was baptised on Sunday 18th July.

WEDDING Please pray for Heather Louise Gauntlett and Richard Lewis Cowell, who will be married in our church on Saturday 31st July at 1.30pm.

PAPAL VISIT 2010 Anyone wishing to attend either the Hyde Park Prayer Vigil or Mass at Cofton Park, Birmingham, please give your full names and contact details to Fr Paul as soon as possible.

COLLECTION for the weekend 17th/18th July was £649.06 (plus £328.00 in the envelopes).

GIFT AID We would like to point out that is the responsibility of the tax payer to inform the Parish if you no longer pay tax, so that we do not claim Gift Aid illegally. Also please inform us if you change your name or address.

OTHER NOTICES

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION PHOTOS Communion group photos are now ready. Please ask at school for a copy or see Mrs Opalko after Mass.

GPPA The Great Park Pastoral Area Committee is seeking new representatives from each parish. The committee meets monthly throughout the academic year. If you are interested in representing our parish, please contact Fr Paul as soon as possible.

PIETY STALL Fr Paul is looking for a volunteer willing to run a small “Piety Stall”. The stall would carry cards, religious objects, etc. Please chat with Fr Paul if you are interested.

CLEANING Our church will be professionally cleaned on Tuesday 3rd August. Mass will go ahead as normal at 9.30am.

THE NEXT BULLETIN will be on 4th/5th September. Items for inclusion should be sent to the Parish Office by noon on Wednesday 1st September.

YOUTH CLUB The next meeting of our Youth Club will be on Thursday 29th July, 7-9pm. New members are welcome.

COX GREEN LUNCHEON CLUB “There has been a good response to the request for help with the luncheon club. Three people have offered their services and I would like to thank them on behalf of the organiser, Alison. If anyone still wishes to be included, they can contact me, Hazel Manley (Tel 631657).”

EVENTS AT DOUAI ABBEY

WEEKEND FOR 18-35 YEAR OLDS Why not prepare for Pope Benedicts’ visit to Britain in style. If you are in the 18-35ish age range, there will be a weekend Young Adults Conference led by Fr De Malleray (head of the international Juventutem Federation) at Douai Abbey 10th‑12th September 2010. There will be Confessions, Adoration, Sung Masses, Rosaries, Marian Procession, Talks, Socials. From as little as £25 for students (or £51 for non‑students). EVENTS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC At 11am on Saturday 11th September there will be a Mass (the choir will be Ensemble 1685 from Warwick) in the main Abbey Church followed by a Marian Procession around the extensive grounds of the Abbey at approx 12pm (starting from the main Abbey Church). All ages/Parishes/Church groups are warmly welcome to attend Mass and the procession. Douai Abbey has excellent transport links to London and its environs with a train station (Midgham – just past Reading) just 15 minutes walk away; and the A4 and M4 just down the road. SCHOOL NEWS

DO IT YOURSELF GREENHOUSE Over the summer, please collect 2‑litre plastic bottles, any colour, for this project. Please rinse them out carefully and bring them in to school next term.
