St Vincent de Paul Society September
is SVP Awareness Month and the theme this year is “Who is my neighbour?” – please
look at the posters in the entrance porch. Finding, supporting and serving
God in our neighbour is fundamental to the Society's work and we are always
in need of new members to help carry out this work. If you are interested,
please contact Ruth Dean on 01628 671358. The St Edmund Campion Conference,
in conjunction with the school, will be holding a fundraising draw over the
next two weekends (13th/14th and 20th/21st September) and
your support will be gratefully received.
Liturgy Anyone who would like to become involved and make a contribution to any aspect of liturgy (reading, music, bidding prayers, servers, children’s liturgy etc), especially those who are currently involved, should drop a message expressing their interest to the Parish Centre for the attention of Phil Melling or email philmelling@yahoo.co.uk. We will be organising a meeting in September when most people will be back off holiday.
New evangelisation website for children www.yfaith.co.uk
is a new Catholic website which aims to provide a home-based support to parents
and others responsible for the faith formation of children and young people.
Its target age group is 10-13 year olds who have questions to ask and want
to learn more about their journey of faith. As such it features more than
20 interactive pages covering music and film, ‘Girls Only’ and ‘Boys
Only’ sections, book reviews, the Bible and a questions area. It is
designed to enable “tweenagers” to engage with, explore and
express their Catholic Faith. It has been created by the Catholic Agency
To Support Evangelisation (CASE) which is an agency of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference
of England and Wales. Please do tell people about it and play your part in
supporting our future Catholic evangelists.
If the fire alarm sounds, leave the Church as quickly and
safely as possible.
Leave behind personal possessions such as coats and Hymn books etc.
DO NOT leave bulky items such as buggies in places where they can obstruct
exit routes.
